A 4-Week Writers' Residency in Jeju, South Korea
Jeju Writers Residency KKot is located in Seonhul-ri, a quiet village in eastern Jeju. We provide writers, researchers, and creators with a calm, dedicated environment to focus on their work.
Alongside independent writing time, residents are welcome to join the host’s daily rhythm—from morning meditations and shared brunches to Silent Hours and shared rides into town for groceries, coastal walks, and local wellness facilities (gym, pool, and sauna).
On evenings and weekends, we occasionally gather for artist talks, tea chats, or walks along Jeju’s trails. All activities are completely optional, allowing you to honor your own pace while staying naturally connected with fellow creators.

Enjoy complete privacy in an entire two-story duplex residence featuring a main bedroom, a versatile multi-purpose room, two full bathrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with an in-unit washer, and a private terrace.
Lounge KKot is a warm, shared space to read, work, or exchange quiet greetings with fellow writers. From morning brunches and afternoon Silent Hours to light evening tea chats, feel free to enjoy our 1,300-book archive and tea bar at your own pace.

Solo Residency : USD1,150 (EUR1,050)
Duo Residency : USD1,400 (EUR1,250)

What is Included

Private House: Exclusive use of a fully furnished two-story duplex (main bedroom, versatile studio, 2 full bathrooms, living room, private kitchen, in-unit washer, and a private terrace).

Amenities: High-speed Wi-Fi, regular maintenance, and basic household supplies. (Note: Utilities are metered separately.)

Lounge Access: Full access to the communal lounge, tea & coffee station, and afternoon 'Silent Hours'. (Residents can voluntarily join the weekday 'Brunch Club'—a collaborative culinary experience. By cooking once a week or assisting the cook of the day, residents enjoy clean meals, learn diverse food cultures, and build gentle connections before deep writing.)

Share Ride to Daily Routine: Morning meditations, evening wellness shuttles, Saturday Walking Club, and diverse community events.
Brunch Club
Mon–Fri, 10:00–12:00 (preparation : 09:00~10:00)
Enjoy a warm, self-organized communal brunch every weekday morning at Lounge KKot. Rather than catered meals, our Brunch Club is a collaborative cooking circle where residents share food, culture, and conversation.

Ingredient Fund: ₩100,000 (~$75 USD / €70 EUR) per month for pooled local ingredients.

Collaborative Duty: Each member takes a turn cooking once a week or assisting the cook of the day.

Shared Connection: A low-pressure space to cook together, exchange international recipes, and share light, clean meals before diving into Silent Hours.
Deposit & Utilities
To encourage eco-conscious and mindful energy consumption, utilities (electricity, water, and heating gas) are metered based on individual usage.
Security Deposit: $200 USD (or approx. ₩300,000 KRW), payable upon booking confirmation.
Average utility costs vary by lifestyle and season.
Spring, Summer, Autumn: $50 – $70
Winter : $100 – $130
Refund Process: At the end of your stay, the actual metered utility cost will be deducted from your deposit, and the remaining balance will be fully refunded in 5 business days after check-out.
Funding & Support
Once selected, we will provide an official Letter of Invitation and a Certificate of Accommodation to assist you in securing funding. We highly encourage applicants to explore mobility grants from their local arts councils or international funding bodies.
