A 4-Week Writers' Sanctuary in Jeju, South Korea
Creative Residency KKOT "꽃" is nestled in Seonhul-ri, a serene village in eastern Jeju island known for its mandarin orchards and camellia blossoms.
We provide writers, researchers, journalists, curators, and scholars with dedicated time and space to focus, reflect, and create.
Beyond independent work, residents are invited to embrace a rhythm of inspiration and connection—from daily communal brunches and morning meditations to complimentary evening shuttles to coastal walking tracks and local wellness facilities (gym, pool, and sauna).
Weekends feature guided walks along Jeju’s iconic trails, complemented by a thoughtful schedule of workshops, artist talks, film screenings, and visits with village elders.These shared experiences invite creators to immerse themselves in Jeju’s landscape while building meaningful bonds with a vibrant community of artists from South Korea and around the world.

Enjoy complete privacy in an entire two-story duplex residence featuring a main bedroom, a versatile multi-purpose room, two full bathrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with an in-unit washer, and a private terrace.

Programs
A curated rhythm of movement, mindfulness, and community to sustain your creative energy. From quiet morning meditations and writer workshops to evening wellness shuttles and Saturday forest walks, our rituals balance deep work with physical wellbeing.

What is Included

Private House: Exclusive use of a fully furnished two-story duplex (main bedroom, versatile writing room, 2 full bathrooms, living room, private kitchen, in-unit washer, and a private terrace).

Amenities: High-speed Wi-Fi, regular maintenance, and basic household supplies. (Note: Utilities are metered separately.)

Lounge Access: Full access to the communal lounge, tea & coffee station, and afternoon 'Silent Hours'.

Kkot Brunch Club
USD100 / 4weeks
Enjoy a mindful, primarily plant-based communal brunch every weekday morning at Lounge KKot. Carefully prepared with seasonal local ingredients from Jeju and absolutely no artificial seasonings, our meals are designed to be light, clean, and nourishing—the perfect fuel for deep-working writers. (Residents share the collaborative spirit of simple serving and dishwashing.)
Deposit & Utilities
To encourage eco-conscious and mindful energy consumption, utilities (electricity, water, and heating gas) are metered based on individual usage.
Security Deposit: $200 USD (or approx. ₩300,000 KRW), payable upon booking confirmation.
Average utility costs vary by lifestyle and season.
Spring, Summer, Autumn: $50 – $70
Winter : $100 – $130
Refund Process: At the end of your stay, the actual metered utility cost will be deducted from your deposit, and the remaining balance will be fully refunded upon check-out.
Funding & Support
Once selected, we will provide an official Letter of Invitation and a Certificate of Accommodation to assist you in securing funding. We highly encourage applicants to explore mobility grants from their local arts councils or international funding bodies.
